Anita Whitney

Anita L. Whitney, 84, of Bloomville, and former resident of Tiffin, and Gibsonburg, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the St. Francis Home in Tiffin.

Anita was born in Saint Marys, Ohio on December 19, 1940, to the late Ralph and Edna (Schamp) Whitney.

Survivors include her three daughters, Drusilla Jacobs of Fremont, Diana Gingrich of Opelika, Alabama, and Lauri (Rick) Walters of Bloomville, fourteen grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Neal Whitney of Lima, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lyn Blaser, a son, Benjamin Hines, a brother, Joe Whitney, and a sister, Carol Whitney McMurray.

Anita was a clerk for the Fisher-Big Wheel store in Fremont for many years, retiring in 2004. She was a 1958 graduate of Saint Marys High School, and she enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, and listening to all sorts of music, and pulling taffy.

Funeral services for Anita will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville, with Pastor Neal Whitney officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday April 16, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
